GunZ Versus Conquer Online
This week's match-up features two free MMOs with different approaches. While Conquer Online features very cartoonish 2D graphics and RPG style game play, GunZ is a hybrid MMO shooter with RPG aspects that uses 3D graphics. As can be seen by the votes and the reviews of each games, stability ended up being the deciding factor in this particular match. While GunZ offers some exciting game play that can capture a gamer's imagination, the game has been plagued with complaints about hacking, overcrowded servers, bad updates, and troubles simply starting the game.

Dark Age of Camelot Versus Supreme Destiny
Like the match with Guild Wars and Dungeons & Dragons, this match-up features pay-to-play MMO versus a free MMO. While Dark Age of Camelot innovated and remains one of the best MMOs for PvP, Supreme Destiny is one of the better games in the free MMO genre with amazing 3D graphics. Even more so than the Guild Wars and DDO match-up, this match is about free versus pay because Dark Age of Camelot is overall a better game than Supreme Destiny. In fact, if both were p2p or f2p it would probably be a landslide victory for DAOC.

Guild Wars Versus Maple Story
Although neither Guild Wars or Maple Story charges a monthly subscription fees, two game could not possibly be more different. While Maple Story is a free download with 2D cartoon-like console graphics, Guild Wars sports more realistic 3D graphics and requires a one time purchase. At first glance, it would appear that Maple Story would appeal to more gamers due to the popularity of console platform games, a relatively small download, and low system requirements, but Guild Wars's popularity is undeniable with over 3 million players.

Missing the Cut
The 16 MMORPGs that made the cut this year are either leaders, are free, in a good niche, or are young with a great deal of potential. That said, several older MMORPGs are missing from the tournament this year including Dark Age of Camelot, Anarchy Online, and EverQuest 2. Of those that missed the cut, EverQuest 2 and Dark Age of Camelot were the closest to come to making it. Both games were beat in the first round last year, but still are very solid MMORPGs. Ultimately, it came down to the fact that Dark Age of Camelot is showing its age and EverQuest 2 will likely always be in the shadow of World of Warcraft. Vanguard barely beat out EverQuest 2 because it is newer and has added a nice innovation to the genre with its diplomacy system. Although it was not in last year's tournament, Silkroad Online is another game that narrowly missed being chosen.

The Tournament
GameOgre.com will have 16 of the top MMORPGs square off against each other in battles to the death in order to determine the MMORPG champ. The winning MMORPG will also be the MMORPG of the Year at GameOgre.com's 2007 Online Game Awards. Since the goal is to find only one winner, Free MMORPGs and Pay-to-Play MMORPGs will be able to go head-to-head with each other. This tournament will also be a major factor in determining the Best Free MMORPG of the Year.

The Rules
Each week, two MMORPGs will face each other until only one is left. You will be able to vote and leave comments for each game on special pages solely dedicated to this tournament. For example, you can leave a 10 for the game you love and then a 0 for the game you hate. This is a battle after all! The game with the highest total score at the end of each week (Thursday morning at 12:01 A.M. CST) will move on. Comments that capture the spirit of the battle without bad language and overuse of caps will be displayed in the results article at the end of the week. There will be a total of 15 matches and the tournament will begin on October 25, 2007.

Ahead of the game
The community that's what keeps WOW alive, and the beautiful artwork - that's it. Besides those two things (and perhaps the relatively low sys reqs) this game is pretty much like every other MMORPG out there... kill x to get x. Bad game. I tryed playing it and got sooo bored. WoW BC sucks.... The horde SHOULD NOT HAVE PALADINS AND THE ALLIANCE SHOULD NOT HAVE SHAMANS!!!! Blizzard, u ruined a perfect game! RUINED IT! Long and boring. You kill the same mobs over and over and over and over and over again, and then get 2 shotted by a member of the opposite faction 20+ levels higher than you. Quest stories are decent, but not enough to make up for the tedious grind. It's a joke. The core basis of the game was based around PvE which it originally did great. Then they decided to delve into PvP and pretty much made a mockery of it.

I must include a con list
The pvp has indeed worsened but that’s really huge in the game, and doesnt really affect much. It updates alot and lots of things are changing in every update, its feels like you just can’t stay with a stable game, it’s always changing, but then again so is the world, that’s what makes it interesting though there are some cons, i did still give it a ten, my advice, dont compare yourself to other players, you'll look weak and insignificant lol, just focus on where you are at the time and you'll have just a splendid time. OK! This game OWNS!!!1 sersiously it’s very fun, amazing expansion packs to an amazing game, i HIGHLY recommend it, if you looking for real fun play in groups if you try to solo the game it’s really not so good. And for all you OMG!!! $15 a MONTH!!! THAT’S NUTS!!!!

Now heres some of the facts about wow
Askogsberg....that’s the worst review i saw in my life you can read my review down there apparently you actually think a game is good because of the number of players? For god sake even runescape has a million players doesnt mean a thing. The game must be review by Quality and Guess what wow is only good when it comes to being able to play +14 hours a day and having absolute patience to wait for 20 mins for a ship to travel. And several hours worth of just walking around huge maps that waste your time. Dont add the waiting for groups for instances or the huge time waste of doing things several times just to get a item. Or the countless hours of grinding. Best game in the world (literally). Over 10,000,000 people play this game now so it doesn"t matter if you think it is terrible, obviously there are 10 million people who don"t.
